Kafe Karlín

The minimalist space of the espresso bar near Prague’s “Karlínské náměstí” tram stop was made in the early days of the rising boom of contemporary authentic cafés. Thanks to the construction of office buildings and the neighborhood’s renovation after the floods, Karlín has become a progressive, pulsing district of Prague. The stone tiling in the interior and the steel ropes under the ceiling creating an extension of the café space out into the street (architect Mirko Neckář), the name and logo were created with bravado and exuberance. The mini-interior offers two tables, the visitors mostly taking their drinks standing.
